Name your storage. Look at a crate, barrel or chest, give it a label, and that name shows on the container for every player, right after its item name.

  • Label any vanilla container: wooden crates, sea chests, barrels, ammo boxes, first aid kits, protector cases and more.
  • Shows in the item's name, so Wooden Crate becomes Wooden Crate [Medical].
  • Everyone sees it. Labels sync to every player.
  • Survives restarts. Labels are saved on the server and stay with the container when it's moved.

Labelling a container

  1. Stand or crouch next to a container (within about 1.3 m) and look at it.
  2. Use Label Container. The Set Container Label window opens, showing the current label if it has one.
  3. Type a label and press OK or Enter.
Button What it does
OK (or Enter) Saves the label
Clear Removes the label
Cancel (or Esc) Closes without changing anything

Saving an empty box removes the label too.

Label rules

  • Up to 24 characters.
  • Square brackets [ ] are removed, since the label is shown inside them.
  • Anyone can relabel or clear any container, not only the player who labelled it.

What can be labelled

Any container built on vanilla's container class, as long as it's on the ground or placed in the world:

  • Wooden Crate, Sea Chest
  • Barrels (all colours)
  • Ammo Box, First Aid Kit, Small Protector Case, Plate Carrier Pouches
  • Waterproof Bag, Scientific Briefcase, Teddy Bear, gift boxes

Tents, backpacks, clothing and the fixed world containers (fridges, trash cans) can't be labelled. A container in your hands or inside another container can't be labelled either: put it down first.

Keeping labels

  • A label stays with its container through server restarts, and when the container is picked up and moved.
  • When the container is destroyed or despawns, its label is deleted with it.
  • Like any other item, a container despawns after a while if nobody's around. Place it within range of a Territory Flag to keep it.
