Demo Kriss
The KRISS Vector for DayZ: a .45 ACP submachine gun with a very high rate of fire and low recoil. It has its own magazines, two suppressors, a rail guard, a stock and a grip, all in eight colours.
- Very fast full auto. About 1,800 rounds a minute, three times the UMP-45.
- Low recoil. A quarter less than the UMP-45 bare. Fully kitted, it kicks about a quarter as much.
- Faster bullets than the UMP-45, with tighter grouping.
- Its own magazines: a 13-round standard mag and a 33-round extended mag. Both load with vanilla .45 ACP rounds.
- Five attachment slots: optic, muzzle (two suppressors to choose from), rail guard, stock and grip.
- Eight colours: black, yellow, grey, white, cyan, camo black, camo brown and camo purple.

Colours
Every item except the 13-round magazine comes in eight colours. The colour is in brackets after the name:
| Colour | Name in game |
|---|---|
| Black | No suffix, for example Vector |
| Yellow | (Yellow) |
| Grey | (Grey) |
| White | (White) |
| Cyan | (Cyan) |
| Camo Black | (CB) |
| Camo Brown | (CBr) |
| Camo Purple | (CP) |
Colours are cosmetic. Any colour of attachment or magazine fits any colour of Vector.
Getting started
- Load .45 ACP rounds into a Vector magazine, the same way as any vanilla magazine.
- Attach the magazine to the Vector.
- Add attachments as you find them.
You can also chamber a single loose .45 ACP round directly, like any vanilla rifle.
The Vector only takes Vector magazines. UMP-45 magazines don't fit.
Attachments
| Slot | Takes |
|---|---|
| Optic | Any vanilla rifle optic that fits the M4: ACOG, M68, reflex, holographic, T3N, BUIS, carry handle |
| Muzzle | Vector Suppressor or Vector Suppressor 2 |
| Rail guard | Vector Rail Guard |
| Stock | Vector Stock |
| Grip | Vector Grip |
Vanilla suppressors, bayonets and flashlights don't fit.
What each attachment does
| Attachment | Recoil | Sway | Other |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vector Suppressor | 25% less | 10% more | Suppresses the shot, slightly tighter grouping |
| Vector Suppressor 2 | 30% less | 30% more | Quieter than the Suppressor, slightly tighter grouping |
| Vector Rail Guard | 20% less | 30% less | |
| Vector Stock | 30% less | 30% less | |
| Vector Grip | 25% less | 25% less | Slightly tighter grouping |
The effects stack. A Vector with a stock, grip, rail guard and either suppressor has about a quarter of the recoil of a bare UMP-45.
One suppressor at a time. The two suppressors use separate slots, but a Vector with one fitted won't take the other. Take the first one off to swap.
Handling
| Vector | UMP-45 (vanilla) | |
|---|---|---|
| Fire modes | Semi-auto, full auto | Semi-auto, full auto |
| Rate of fire, full auto | about 1,800 rounds a minute | about 610 rounds a minute |
| Muzzle velocity | about 325 m/s | about 275 m/s |
| Recoil, bare | 75% | 100% |
| Weapon health | 500 | 250 |
- A 33-round magazine empties in just over a second on full auto. Fire in short bursts.
- The Vector uses the UMP-45's sounds, reload and handling animations.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| A UMP-45 magazine won't attach | The Vector only takes Vector magazines |
| A suppressor won't attach | The other Vector suppressor is already fitted. Remove it first |
| A vanilla suppressor won't attach | Only the two Vector suppressors fit |
| An optic won't attach | It needs to be a rifle optic that fits the M4. Hunting scopes, PSO scopes and pistol optics don't fit |
